Lynne’s chocolate fridge biscuits

Lynne’s chocolate fridge biscuits are infamous, a regular feature of her kiddushim. Lynne says they are one of her most popular bakes: “the recipe originally came from my mother’s friend in Bristol and has now been passed far and wide.”

  • 110g (4oz) margarine
  • 2 tbsps golden syrup
  • 25g (1oz) caster sugar
  • 1and half tbsps drinking chocolate
  • 225g (8oz) crushed digestives
  • 225g (8oz) Cadbury’s dairy milk chocolate for topping
  • 1 tbsp raisins


Melt margarine, syrup, sugar and drinking chocolate.
Add biscuits to pan, followed by raisins and stir well.
Press mixture into 7” greased and lined square tray.
Melt chocolate and spread over the top.
Refrigerate and enjoy!
